I received this watch as a present a little less than four years ago and I have loved it since. The band is easily adjustable and quite comfortable, and the watch itself is not as heavy or thick as one would expect; in fact it's quite compact. It's not garishly flashy and gigantic, but that's something I love about this watch. The functions are amazing. The the most used function on my watch is the Meteo function, which is essentially a barometer and a weather predictor. The hands indicate (based on temperature and barometric data) what the weather will be like in eight hours. Although not Doppler radar, it does usually tend to predict whether or not it will rain. I use the compass when I travel, and the compass has helped me navigate the streets of Singapore and Paris. The glass, after all these years, is truly scratch proof, as there is not a single scratch or blemish.
Even though I love this watch, I realize not that it's not meant to be worn 24/7. I only changed the battery once when I was in London just because there was a Swatch store, but the battery life seems average to above average. The numbers and letters around the bezel are painted on, and will fall off over time. Getting sand into the bezel will cause damage and may clog up the bezel. The bezel will scratch much more easily than the glass, and after a year of use looked unfortunately cheap and worn. Other owners have complained about the buttons falling off, but mine have stayed on so far. I have had a problem with the hands, and right now my hour hand is permanently stuck on 7. The digital clock works fine though, so I still wear it.
I have no idea what Swatch does when they service the watch, but it's very expensive. Just getting a routine service after warranty cost (for me at least) $350. With the hour hand stuck, I was told it would probably be around $450. Basically, it's near the cost of buying a new T-Touch. If you invest in this watch, you'll want to take care of it quite nicely, and take note of when the warranty expires.

You could find a much cheaper watch that keeps watch just as fine. I got the white watch and never regretted it. The amount of complements I've gotten is pretty ridiculous. My only 2 comments are this - amazon lists this as having a calendar date feature. This watch doesnt have a perpetual calendar, or any calendar for that matter. Thats amazons mistake though, not Stuhrling. The other comment I have for this is that while it is fully automatic, the "sweeping second hand" isnt quite as sweeping as some other watches. I just purchased mines from a local retailer and it was retailed at $1400, but then after some haggling the salesman offered me $250 off. Still not as cheap as Amazon, but it came with the Tag 3 year warranty and you have a lifetime battery replacement program at any authorized Tag service center. I contemplated buying it for less here, but they don't recommend that you change the batteries yourself or at a watch shop. Every Tag repair center will perform a pressure test after replacing the batteries to ensure that your watch is correctly sealed. I figure the extra price gives me peace of mind especially since the authorized service centers require that you have your certificate of authenticity, which Amazon does not provide. Once the 2 year Amazon warranty runs out, any battery and pressure test service will cost you additional money. With tax and all, I ended up a good amount above the Amazon cost, but still not MSRP. These watches are tough and will last you a long time. I really like this watch and was impressed even more when I received it. The only drawback, as other reviewers have stated, is the clasp. It's a real pain, and I wouldn't be surprised if I end up breaking the clasp while trying to get the watch on and adjusted. Other than the clasp, it's a great watch. DO NOT BUY A TISSOT! I purchased the watch on a Royal Caribbean cruise ship out of Venice in July of 2007. I LOVED the watch, and am a big outdoorsman that used the compass and altimeter, barometer--everything a lot hunting bighorn sheep in the Rocky Mountains. I literally thought I could be a commercial for TISSOT TOUCH. Last summer the watch quit working, and then started again, it worked on and off for a few months intermittently stopping--I assumed it was the battery and when it finally stopped for good I took it to my jeweler to have the battery replaced. He could not open it, which I discovered was a good thing because the warranty would have been void. I then contacted TISSOT through the website, and within a few days Veronica responded Friday, November 7, 2008, 9:14 AM. Since then I have been in touch with Time Tech, a referred watchsmith on your list, I sent them the watch (WITH a battery, since I expected that was the issue) only to discover after several weeks of persistence, that they do not work on the TOUCH and sent it away. It then took me quite some time to receive any further information as to where the watch went, who has it, what they are doing with it, when I will get it back. Of course, all this time, I was still thinking I had an $800 watch. I finally receive, after persistence once again, information that they sent it back to "the factory" and I cannot call them because Time Tech sent it to them and is the customer, not me, so they will not talk to me. OK, fair enough, after all I am getting my watch fixed for free, it is a warranty issue obviously--what happens next? I receive an estimate for $400, $245 minimum from TIME TECH. Where is the estimate from "the factory" or is the watch being repaired under warranty and Time Tech is charging me $245.00 to coordinate it? Also, why could I not send it to the factory in the first place? At this point I am thinking of tossing the watch and regretting the whole purchase--I can't even sell it, it doesn't work, and functional used one can be purchased for $290.00 on ebay--that is what I am being charged just to get mine back. I have been told that I need to get the battery replaced about 1/year (?) That seems like a pretty big hassle for an $800 watch. Did I make a mistake in buying TISSOT?
